Learn more about your garage door with this practical advice
We can help you discover features of your garage door and related equipment that can result in even better long-term operation. Check out our tips page to find out more.
Don't make a run for it
Sometimes you may be tempted run through the opening while your garage door is closing. DON'T. If you trip you could end up under your door, and while modern systems are equipped with safety sensors that prevent them from closing on an obstacle in their path, you're still taking a chance. These sensors, just like any electronic component, can malfunction. Simply order the door to open and walk through it safely.
Replace both extension springs
It's prudent to replace both garage door extension springs when only one of them is worn. If you don't, the door won't move evenly at both sides and the spring, which hasn't been replaced, will wear down soon after. You'll have to go through the replacement procedure once more.
Choose safety milk glass panels
If you are considering getting glass garage doors, our experts in Jonesboro would recommend choosing tinted panels. Glass panels come in different shades and can protect you from prying eyes. It's also good to get safety glass for the panels to avoid injuries in case the glass breaks.
